About Podiatrists

Podiatrists, or Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) are podiatric physicians and surgeons. Their education and training uniquely qualify them to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle and related structures of the leg. Specializing in the diagnosis as well as the comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of foot and ankle conditions, podiatric physicians help keep Oklahomans walking comfortably. DPMs are licensed by the state in which they practice podiatric medicine. For a list of all podiatrists licensed in Oklahoma click below.

Find A Podiatrist

If you’re experience foot or ankle troubles, see a podiatrist (DPM). These podiatric physicians and surgeons are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg due to their training and education. Podiatrists can specialize in many fields like reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, orthopedics, wound care, pediatric care, or diabetic care.

Podiatrists complete four years of medical school and three years of hospital residency. They can also go on to fellowship training after their residency. Some podiatrists will also complete additional training, clinical experience, and examinations to earn board certification from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

All podiatrists must earn continuing medical education (CME) hours to maintain an active license. The Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Examiners Board is responsible for licensing podiatrists in the State of Oklahoma.
